Bignor Park West Sussex

Bignor Park is a dream venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions. It epitomises rural elegance and offers flexibility and exclusivity.

Bignor Park is a twelve hundred acre, privately owned estate within the new South Downs National Park and have been used since the mid 14th century for a variety of uses including a deer park. The Park and Manor of Bignor were held from at least the mid-fourteenth century by the Earls of Arundel. Charlotte Turner Smith, poet and novelist, spent her childhood at Bignor Park. John Hawkins built the present house in 1826-9 and laid out the surrounding parkland. Bignor Park has been with the Bigham family since 1926 and it has since been renovated. There are eleven acres of gardens to explore including species such as the rare two hundred year old Lucombe oak. There is also a temple on a mound and selections of trees and other flora as well as a Zen pond and woodland path. The Bignor Roman Villa is a twenty minutes walk away. The parkland also contains a formal garden, The Dutch Garden and a kitchen garden.
